XC Development Racing: Get a competitive edge!

Niall Davis from Biking.ie has kindly offered to take two groups of 5 riders (beginners) on a short lap of the XC Development Series Round 1 course in Ballinastoe as a continuation of their backing of the series.

Niall will run through some skills and tips to get the 10 lucky riders smoothly through their first race!

All you have to do is be one of the first 10 riders to email Niall with your details (name, email and phone number should be sufficient) and you’ll be given some great advice and tips for your XC MTB racing experience!

UPDATE: Niall says thanks to everyone who emailed – he now has the 10 names of the riders he will be leading around the trail.

Make sure to email him next time as Niall will also kindly be offering the same service for Rounds 2 and 3 of the series!

An update will be posted here and various other MTB sites when Niall will be accepting emails for the next rounds.
Niall’s email is: niall@biking.ie
Just a reminder that Niall and Tarja at Biking.ie will also be sponsoring the series with vouchers for a one-on-one training session for 3 lucky winners!

IMPORTANT notice re; 2010 CI licences

The Cycling Ireland office has advised that there are issues with the Licence application process that will mean licences applications won’t be running properly until mid January.

Due to this all 2009 Licences will be extended until the 31st January 2010.

So for any events in January 2010, your 2009 licence will be acceptable.

We are waiting to find out what the situation is with people who do not have a 2009 licence but want a full licence for 2010.

Thanks

Happy Christmas and New Year!

Santa is on his bike and on his way! He’s ringing his bell and admiring his new bar ends.

Just a quick note to say Happy Christmas and New Year from Irish XC MTB and the Offroad Commission.
We’re looking forward to a 2010 season stuffed full of races and fun MTB events so we hope to see you at a few of these.
Meanwhile, be careful on those nasty slippy roads over the next week and get yourselves into the frozen forests where the trails are hard, fast, and schlomp-free!
You might even see Rudolph and his mates bouncing around up there.
Stay frosty…
