NPS Round 1 preview

The 2007 Irish Mountain Bike Cross Country National Points Series begins

The 2007 Irish Mountain Bike Cross Country National Points Series begins this Sunday, 29th April at one of the most beautiful courses in Ireland, Glenarm Forest, situated on the edge of the sleepy village of Glenarm in County Antrim.
This years NPS will have seven rounds and following on from the success of the K-Capital Cup it should be one of the best in recent years.

On Sunday the opening round will be promoted by East Antrim CC/Issac Agnew Audi in association with Larne Borough Council. This will be the first ever Irish NPS race to be hedl at the venue though in the past few years it has been the venue for Ulster League races and the Ulster Championships.
The course is approx 1.5 miles in length with a brilliant mixture of fast single track, river crossing, downhill sections and of course the infamous climb at the back of the course.

The promoters have been able to increase the prize fund due to the generosity of Larne Council. Riders travelling to the race should travel north from Belfast following signs for Larne (A8).
Once in Larne follow signs for the Coastal Route, one of the most scenic drives in the North.
Car Parking at the Forest is not great, however there is a sea front car park close to the venue and riders are advised to avail of this.
