EPIC Inter-Club evening league
EPIC evening race league in Leadmines kicks-off!
The EPIC MTB evening league kicked-off tonight with a huge amount of riders from several clubs attending the Leadmines venue.As previously reported, the EPIC trail masters have put in a huge amount of work on the two existing sections as well as a brand new section.
Weather was perfect, lovely evening sunshine but not too hot, just as well because the heat generated by the 37 riders hammering around the track raised the temperature of the venue quite a few degrees!
The ladies were started-off first on 2 laps followed by the sports riders then the more experienced expert/masters/vets riders.The ladies race was won by Moire O'Sullivan (EPIC MTB) in convincing style, first place in the main group was Damo Mulchrone (EPIC MTB), being chased hard by Shane Gheoghegan (MADMTB).
Damo Duggan, Beth McCluskey and Oisin Boydell completed the top 5 positions.
Further down the field there were more furious battles as Fergal (MADMTB) just pipped Gar (IMBRC) for 9th place.Richie Byrne was also maxing his VO2 levels in his sprint to the line with Bon.
All in all, a great nights racing with everyone going full-tilt.
