The 2008 EPIC Blast!
The EPIC Blast Takes Place in Ballinastoe Woods on 14th September 2008.
Format is 10 heats, 10 + riders per heat, first to the finish line wins.
1 track - multiple lines, choose your bike carefully, sections for DH bikes , XC bike, 6" bikes, the course is from the top of Ballinastoe to the car park, most of it is on new or old trail..one short section is on Dafyds track.
Then the heat finals take place - each winner from the heats, each 2nd-place rider and so on.
Then 3pm - the EPIC BLAST takes place from the top of the mountain, all riders assemble and first to the finish wins!

Irish XC Marathon Champs
The course is based in the kilbride area and will start and finish in the grounds of the Kippure House Estate.
Sign-on: 8am - 9:30am

Pre-race briefing: 9:45am
Race Start: 10am
Presentation Ceremony: 4pm

National Trails Day and MADMTB Autumn beginners courses
National Trails Days will be held on Sunday 28th September 2008 with the objectives of:
Promoting an awareness of the recreation trails (walking and biking) and allied outdoor recreation facilities that are currently available in Ireland
Promoting an understanding of the need to manage and resource our trails and other facilities
Promotion and awareness of the work of all key agencies in delivering trails and other facilities
The Mountainbike Association of Dublin (MADMTB) will be hosting the mountainbike session of the National Trails Day at Ballinastoe, Co. Wicklow on Sunday 28th September 2008 and will be guiding people around the various off-road trails and providing tips and information on how to get the best out of your mountainbiking experience.
This will also be the first of 3 beginner-specific courses that the MADMTB club will be running in the Autumn.
The subsequent 2 sessions will likely be run on Saturday 4th October and Saturday 11th October but be sure to checkout www.madmtb.com for the latest details.
The mountainbiking session will start at 11am and finish at approx 2pm.
All participants are request to arrive in good time and to ensure they have helmets and their bikes are in full working order.
People should also bring a bicycle pump and spare tube, a drink and a small snack (eg; muesli bar etc..). A rain jacket may also be needed but hopefully the weather will be kind!
