The club is also well known for its innovative Epic Blast:
This is a race which fuses XC and DH, it is a yearly event which brings out mountainbikers of all shapes and sizes.
The club is currently bigger than ever with a large range of members ranging from the XC whippet to the DH demon so every type of rider is catered for.

Club name:
MAD MTB (Mountainbiking Association of Dublin)
Club history:
MAD started in May 1988, our first meeting took place at the shop at Powerscourt waterfall sitting on the grass after a spin.
Peter Purfield, Conor Byrne, Ger Ring and Dave whatshisname and Rory decided on starting the club.
Conor Byrne invented the name MAD: Mountainbiking Association of Dublin.
Gerry Pierce and Berminator showed up later that summer.
The next year in March there were 52 out on a spin, where we went through Powerscourt gates and got hassle from the gate keeper for not paying.
Rory met Robin Seymour later that year in the local park doing trials, near where he lived, and invited him out on a spin with MAD.
The rest is history.

Team W.O.R.C. (Wicklow Off-Road Club)
Club history:
The club was formed at the start of 2001.
During the 2000 season numbers at races were decreasing, the standard of courses had dropped,
races never started on time and mountain biking in Ireland looked like it was on a downhill slope (excuse the pun).
We were a group of riders who had been involved in mountain biking since the very early days in the late 80's
and who decided that in order to try and raise the standard of racing once again in Ireland.
A good starting place would be to run the 2001 Mountain Bike Championships.
In order to run a mountain bike event you have to be an affiliated club with the Irish Cycling Federation
and so Wicklow Off-Road Club was formed.

MBUL (Mountainbiking club University of Limerick)
Club history:
The club was founded in September 1998 by two second year mechanical engineering students to cater for the needs of the growing community of mountainbikers in UL and the surrounding area.
Our aim is to promote mountain biking as a fun recreational activity, both in UL and beyond.
From humble beginnings, with about 3-4 cyclists on each outing, we have grown to the extent where we routinely have up to fifteen cyclists out every week, whatever the weather.
We have also expanded our activities to include racing as well as recreational rides.
Our most recent race was the Mountain Mayhem 24hr event in Birmingham UK.

Mountain Bike Club of Cork (MBCC)
Club history:
The club has been revived by a small group of like-minded Cork bikers with the chief aim of becoming a big group of like-minded Cork mountain bikers.
The goals of the club are to get more people out on their bikes and enjoying having fun in the hills and in the woods regardless of experience, interests or abilities.
We aim to cater for all avenues of what is quite a diverse sport, but primarily for the kind of cross-country (XC) spins that back in the days before everything had to have a label were just called "mountain biking".
We're into long exploratory epics when we have the time, and short fun-packed blasts when we don't.
